Once off the plane, I sorted myself out a SIM card so I can still be connected to the world while I’m here and not rely on WiFi and Michael… who I met off the airport transfer bus at Terminal 3, where we collected the juggernaut…

Michael managed to get a free upgrade because they didn’t have any of the cars available in the range we’d paid for… so we have this absolute beast of a car, which technically seats seven… although we’re not planning on bringing any stragglers with us at this point.
We drove straight to City Beach, which does what it says on the tin – it’s a beach on the edge of the city, and it very usefully has some lovely restaurants and bars that overlook the beach, so we did the right thing and ordered some fresh seafood and beers.

Once we’d seen the sun down with some drinks, we headed to our bnb via the supermarket to grab some snacks and a pizza.

We commiserated over the American election result with a few slices of sad pizza (the oven wasn’t clean or very good) but it was sustenance nonetheless.
Managed to get a decent night’s sleep and thank god, because tomorrow is whale watching, so we’ll need our eyes wide open!!!
Fingers crossed for some splashing tails!
